Acupuncture is a therapeutic technique involving the insertion of needles into specific anatomical points on the body.These points are called acupuncture points. Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used medical procedures in the world. It is based on the principal of balancing energy flow in the body to correct physiological functions.The word acupuncture comes from two latin words, "actus" and "punctura". Actus means needle; "punctura" means pricking. Acupuncturists may also use other type of treatments in addition to needling, including vacuum cupping, moxibustion and electrotherapy.
